How do I cancel, update, or manage my subscriptions and/or memberships?
For Chill Subs, go here [beside “status” there should be a big red cancel button].
For Sub Club, go here [you will find it under “account actions” at the bottom of the page or clicking that big red “Unsubscribe” button should work].
And for Forever Workshop, go here. [you will find it under “account actions” at the bottom of the page or clicking that big red “Unsubscribe” button should work].
If you don’t see the option, double check you’re logged in under the same email you signed up under. If you need some help, email us with a link to your profile and a screenshot of the receipt for the last payment (if possible). That will help us sort it out for you quicker. If you were signed up for “Best” don’t worry, we will handle removing your access to Sub Club and Forever Workshop.
What memberships do you offer?
We’ve got three main options: Chill Subs Better, Sub Club, and Forever Workshop, plus our new “Best” Bundle that combines all three into one easy payment.
What’s the difference between Chill Subs Better, Sub Club, and Forever Workshop?
Chill Subs Better: Premium website tools: keyword search, submitter’s passport, prose formatter, cover letter generator, regular events to help you boost your submitting and publishing game, discounts on custom lit mag recommendations, and more!
Sub Club: A weekly newsletter (#4 Substack Bestseller in Literature) with curated lists of lit mags, agents, jobs, pitch opportunities, interviews with industry experts, and live AMAs, .
Forever Workshop: Monthly self-paced writing workshops (#6 Substack Besteller in Education), taught by writers you actually want to learn from.
Why do you have so many memberships?
Great question—we blame enthusiasm. Each started separately to fill different writerly needs. Now the “Best” Bundle ties it all together neatly under one payment.
How do I know which membership I currently have?
For Chill Subs, head to your account settings here—it’ll be clearly listed. For Sub Club, you can manage it here. And for The Forever Workshop, follow this link. If you have a “Best,” membership, we’ll handle those external memberships for you. If things are still unclear use this form to let us know how we can help.
Can I switch from multiple memberships to the “Best” Bundle?
Absolutely. Just subscribe to “Best,” and within 48 hours we’ll manually combine your existing memberships and refund any overlap.
I think I’m being double-charged—what do I do?
Use this form. We’re good at sorting these things out, and we don’t want your extra money unless you’re bribing us to call off the bears.
How much does each membership cost?
Price breakdown:
“Best” Bundle (all three): $20/month (saving you $10 monthly)
Forever Workshop: $10/month
Sub Club: $10/month
Chill Subs Better: $10/month
Do you offer refunds?
Always. If you’re unhappy for any reason, fill out this form. No questions asked, though some gentle weeping might ensue.
Do you offer scholarships?
We do! If cost is a barrier, just fill out this form. No need to provide proof or explain yourself. We trust you.
Do memberships auto-renew?
Yes, but you can cancel anytime. No hard feelings. Just soft feelings. Like sadness—or despair.
What happens if I cancel?
Your membership stays active until your billing cycle ends, then gracefully shifts back to a free account.
How quickly does my membership activate after subscribing?
Instantly for Chill Subs Better. For the “Best” Bundle, your Sub Club and Forever Workshop memberships are manually activated within 48 hours (often quicker).
I signed up for “Best”, it’s been 48 hours, and I still can’t access Sub Club or Forever Workshop, what gives?
OK, this usually happens because you have different emails on Chill Subs vs. Substack—yeah, it’s annoying. Please use this form to let us know (it’s the fastest way to get a hold of us).
Can I gift a membership?
We don’t have this functionality yet. But if it’s something special for you, we can make it happen.
Can I upgrade my membership at any time?
Yep. Upgrades kick in immediately, and downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle.
How do I re-activate my membership?
You should be able to do that here. If that doesn't work, visit our support hotline.
Why did I lose access to Better tools like the prose formatter and cover letter generator?
This is most likely because your payments stopped for one reason or another, check on this by visiting your membership page. Remember, if you are signed up for Sub Club or Forever Workshop, this does not get you access to Chill Subs' tools.
What if I downgrade from the “Best” Bundle?
Your current benefits remain until the next billing cycle, then you’ll move to your chosen lower-tier membership. Easy as pie.
